Teaching
Martin Campos has taught at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, Washington Studio School, Wayne Art Center, Winslow Art Center, Studio Incamminati, and the Fleisher Art Memorial. He has taught workshops throughout the United States, France, Spain, Italy, England, Ireland, South Africa, and New Zealand. He has been a guest lecturer at Lyme Academy of Fine Arts, CT and Salisbury University, MD. He also teaches online with courses through the ArtDigger Lab (in Spain), Kara Bullock Art School, and regularly gives his own series of online lessons.

Basics of Figure Drawing
May 16, 23, & 30
Each session is 2 hours
long from 2 to 4 pm EDT.
$300 USD
A back to basics class- this three day online workshop is for artists who want to learn the basics of figure drawing. Covered themes will be anatomy, composition, focal points, and how understanding what goes on under the skin helps to create substance in figurative work.
I will be using charcoal and pastel but you are welcomed to use the medium of your choice.
We will be working with a live model and photo references for both short and long poses.
Each session is 2 hours from 2 to 4 pm EDT via Zoom. I will be recording the sessions for later reference but do encourage students to be as present as possible during class and not depend too much on the recordings. Group dynamics and a sense of community is of importance and I feel this sometimes gets lost within the virtual world.
One week prior to our first session I will invite you to join a informal meet and greet via Zoom at 2 pm EDT to go over in more detail materials and concepts about the workshop that are important. This session will be recorded if you can't attend.

The Dramatic Portrait in Oil

This two day, online workshop explores portraiture in a less traditional way; as a form of expression and not just representation. I will be using oil as the main medium, but students are welcomed to use other mediums if they prefer.
