Upcoming Online Workshops

The Figure in Oil
August 18, 25, & September 1

Each session is 2 hours
long from 2 to 4 pm EDT.

$300 USD

Painting the figure provides the artist with limitless potential but also challenges. In this online workshop, we will be exploring the fluidity and mobility of the medium and how these qualities can be used to create powerful figurative compositions.

I will be using oil but acrylic may also be used if you prefer. We will be working with a live model and photo references for both short and long poses.

Each session is 2 hours from 2 to 4 pm EDT via Zoom. I will be recording the sessions for later reference but do encourage students to be as present as possible during class and not depend too much on the recordings. Group dynamics and a sense of community is of importance and I feel this sometimes gets lost within the virtual world.

One week prior to our first session I will invite you to join a informal meet and greet via Zoom to go over in more detail materials and concepts about the workshop that are important. This session will be recorded if you can't attend.

Critiques for both online course will be provided during class and through email. Please contact me at camposmartin030@gmail.com (or the contact button below ) with any questions.

The Portrait in Oil

Revisiting portraiture! In this 3 day online workshop, I will be demonstrating not only the principles of capturing a likeness, but exploring how the medium itself can influence expression.

Exploring Abstraction
September 15 & 22

Each session is 2 hours
long from 2 to 4 pm EDT.

A special two day, online workshop exploring art through abstraction. Breaking out of representation can be not only freeing for artists but It enables a way of thinking about color, movement, and shapes without barriers which can in turn strengthen any art.

I will mainly be working in oils, but students are welcomed to use their preferred medium.
