Upcoming Online Workshops
The Figure in Pastel
March 21, 28, April 4
Each session is 2 hours
long from 2 to 4 pm EDT.
$300 USD
The medium of pastel is both luscious and intimidating to use. In this 3 day, online workshop,
I will be demonstrating how I implement the medium when drawing the human form.
Covered themes will be anatomical concepts and utilizing the color possibilities and the delicacy and touch of pastels specifically.
Each session is 2 hours from 2 to 4 pm EDT via Zoom. I will be recording the sessions for later reference but do encourage students to be as present as possible during class and not depend too much on the recordings. Group dynamics and a sense of community is of importance and I feel this sometimes gets lost within the virtual world.
One week prior to our first session I will invite you to join a informal meet and greet via Zoom at 2 pm EDT to go over in more detail materials and concepts about the workshop that are important. This session will be recorded if you can't attend.
Critiques for both online course will be provided during class and through email. Please contact me at camposmartin030@gmail.com (or the contact button below ) with any questions.
Working from References
March 17 & 24
Each session is 2 hours
long from 2 to 4 pm EDT.
$250 USD
Using references can be a freeing and malleable tool in creating compositions. In this 2 day, online workshop, I will be demonstrating how I use both drawings and photo references as a starting point in the creative process.
I will be using oil and pastel, but students are welcomed to use their preferred medium as well as any preferred references.

An exciting new opportunity to study in Paris with the Paris Academie! In this intensive three-day workshop, students will explore a pragmatic and instinctive approach to the human form. At the boundary between realism and expression, we will work on intuitive and visceral responses, examining the relationship between space and figure.
The themes explored will include the behavior of the line, early gestural responses, and the tension between the figure and space. This expressive approach will help students create strong and evocative representations of the human form.
